Causes of cement pavement damage

The design life of cement concrete pavement is longer than that of asphalt concrete pavement (generally, the design life is 20-30 years), but many cement concrete pavements have not reached the service life. The main reasons for the damage are as follows: ;

1. Poor construction quality (including base materials such as crushed lime or lime soil ingredients that do not meet the standard, large soil content, poor water resistance, and thin mud generated under the action of road water seepage and vehicle load, which may easily cause pavement slabs to break).

2. Heavy overload and imperfect road protection and drainage facilities. Coupled with the influence of many factors such as design, construction, maintenance, use, etc., cracks will appear in a short time, and damages such as serious subsidence and broken will occur.
